—Introduction tagline

Yang Xiao Long (ヤンシャオロング, Yang Xiao Long) is a playable character in Super Smash Bros. Dream. She was confirmed on December 9th, 2015, with the promise of another character from RWBY to be confirmed in the near future. She is the second anime character to be represented in Smash, alongside Wendy. Her respective voice actresses, Barbara Dunkelman and Ami Koshimizu, reprise their roles as Yang in the English and Japanese versions. Yang's appearance is cel-shaded, exactly like her appearance in RWBY.

Attributes[edit | edit source]

Yang focuses on raw power, coming from her punches. Like Lucario, she has an aura mechanic. The more damage she takes, the stronger she becomes. This is noticeable by her hair glowing and her eye color turning red, akin to the series. Her attacks are also faster than most other powerhouse characters, being able to rack up damage, and KO, quicker than most. Despite these strengths, she also has some flaws. Despite her damage output, she is somewhat light, making her easier to KO than most powerhouse characters. Another flaw comes from some attacks themselves, as most of her attacks that punches use up ammo. This is because of her trademark weapon, the Ember Celica, a pair of gauntlets that also functions as shotguns. Whenever Yang runs out of ammo, moves that use ammo become weaker and have reduced range. Despite this flaw however, whenever she does have ammo, she has disjointed hitboxes in many of her moves, giving her deceptively long range. Additionally, she also shares a similar flaw with Lucario, that her strongest comes from when her aura's at her peak, meaning she'd be even easier to KO, making it harder for the aura to be useful at times, especially against other powerhouse characters such as Ganondorf. Update History[edit | edit source]

Balance Patch v1.0[edit | edit source]

Attributes[edit | edit source]

Trophies[edit | edit source]

Yang
Yang Xiao Long is a 17 year old girl, learning to become a warrior at Beacon Academy, along with her younger half-sister Ruby Rose. In Smash, she uses her signature weapon, the Ember Celica, to perform high-ranged attacks. She also has a few advanced techniques that she uses as special moves. She also has a thing for puns...
RWBY (07/2013)
RWBY: Grimm Eclipse (12/2015)
Yang (Alt.)
Yang may seem like your average fighter at first....until she suffers a beating. The more damage she takes, the stronger her aura gets, making her a very dangerous foe, especially at her aura cap. Additionally, Ember Celica can only use so much ammo before it runs out. When she runs out of ammo, all of her punching attack damage outputs are halved and their distance is horribly weakened. Use this to your advantage if you want to have a chance at winning!

Aura Burst
You've done it now. Yang is looking pretty angry. In this Final Smash, she realizes that the opponents have messed with the one thing she doesn't want messed up: her hair. She then goes on a rampage, attacking anyone in her way. It's a pretty "Grimm" ending for her opponent...
