Trophies[edit | edit source]

Gurren Lagann
The Gurren Lagann mecha. What started out as two completely different mechas became this monstrous being when Lagann combined with Gurren. In Smash, it brings power along with its famous Giga Drill Break. And no mecha is complete without its driver, or, in this case, drivers; Simon and Viral are in control, giving every order.

Gurren Lagann (Alt.)
The Giga Drill Break is a powerful move: it can be charged to the point where it's bigger than Gurren Lagann itself. However, it takes a while to get it fully charged, and then another while to get the attack out. So be sure to use it at its full power when the time is just right.

Super Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann
Behold, the largest mecha in the universe! This monstrous being is a transformation of the Gurren Lagann mecha, and it's so large that it has to go off-stage to attack. The attack itself is the Super Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann Giga Drill Break, and the drill is enormous. Be prepared for a lot of damage, because there's no way to avoid the attack.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • The number of matches the player must play to unlock Gurren Lagann is the same number of episodes in the Gurren Lagann anime: 27.
  • Gurren Lagann was almost cut from SSBD; Aidan's reasoning behind this consideration was the Gurren Lagann character felt "uninspired", and the similarities between Yoko and Sagittarius's functions as Assist Trophies. However, after taking some time to think, he decided to keep the Gurren Lagann universe in the game.
