CDI Link (CDIリンク, CDI Link) is a playable character in Super Smash Bros. Dream. He was confirmed on December 20th, 2015 as an early holiday gift to all players of the game. He is the fourth Link to appear in Smash, following Link, Young Link, and Toon Link. His voice actor, Jeffrey Rath, reprises his role as CDI Link in all regions of the game.

- Beat Classic Mode on any intensity with Link, Young Link, and Toon Link
- Play 350 VS. matches
Attributes[edit | edit source]
Like the other Links, CDI Link is a swordfighter. However, unlike the other Links, CDI Link is a joke character, not intended to be good in any way, but meant to be playable regardless.

Down smash | – | 1% (hits 1-5), 5% (hit 6), 2% (hit 7) | CDI Link does a breakdancing spin similar to Mario Tornado.
Neutral aerial | – | 5% | CDI Link does a spin like Bowser's neutral aerial.
Forward aerial | – | 4% | CDI Link flops sideways like the Green Missile, but does not move forward, nor does it misfire. Does flame damage.

Down throw | – | 6% | CDI Link throws the opponent on the ground and throws a temper tantrum on them.
Floor attack (front) | – | 8% | CDI Link spins in a circle and somehow magically gets back on his feet.

Taunts[edit | edit source]
- Up Taunt: CDI Link stretches and says "Gee, it sure is boring around here!"
- Side Taunt: CDI Link leans over and says "How about a kiss? For luck." After he says this, he puts his hand over his mouth, seemingly giggling.
- Down Taunt: Holds his hand behind his head and says "Golly!"
On-screen Appearance[edit | edit source]
The mirror he was trapped in in Zelda: The Wand of Gamelon flies at the stage and breaks, causing CDI Link to fly out of it and get in his idle pose.
Idle Poses[edit | edit source]
- Looks at the camera and smiles
- Stretches similarly to his up taunt.
Crowd cheer[edit | edit source]
C-D-I! Liii-ink!
Victory Fanfare[edit | edit source]
The first 6 seconds of the Ganon's Lair Passage theme from Link: The Faces of Evil instead of the normal Zelda victory fanfare.
Victory Poses[edit | edit source]
- CDI Link puts his hand up as the camera zooms in to his face and shouts "I won!"
- CDI Link stares at the screen, putting his hands together, and shouts "Oh boy! I'm so hungry, I could eat an Octorok!"
- CDI Link points to something off camera and says "It's a Gohma!" A sword then flies toward him and he catches it, saying "Thanks!"
Trophies[edit | edit source]
- CDI Link
- Erm, is it just me or does Link look a little...cartoon-y? And surprisingly, not like Toon Link. No, he's more ugly than Toon Link. That's right, this is CDI Link. He stopped the Faces of Evil and defeated Ganon in his own game, and now he's finally here in Smash! I...don't think he's very good at fighting though...
- Link: The Faces of Evil (10/1993)
- Zelda: The Wand of Gamelon (10/1993)
- CDI Link (Alt.)
- So here's the question I'd like to ask: WHY exactly are you playing as CDI Link? I mean, there are three other Links right there on the same roster, but yet you choose CDI Link? You know what, I'm not gonna judge your preferences. Anyway, his Power Sword is good, I guess. It can launch lasers kinda like Falco's, but it really isn't anything special...what, you were expecting more? Nah, there's nothing to say about this annoying loser. Good day sir/ma'am.
- Link: The Faces of Evil (10/1993)
- Zelda: The Wand of Gamelon (10/1993)
- Mah Boi!
- When CDI Link gets the Smash Ball, King Harkinian will appear out of nowhere and CDI Link will jump on his back. Somehow, the King will start flying around, dealing more damage depending on how fast he's moving. Every time he hits someone, he will shout "My boy!" and launch them away from him. These fighters keep getting worse all the time...
Reveal Trailer[edit | edit source]
Plays the Toyku Lighthouse Base 1 theme after revealing him. One scene will show him using his side taunt while looking at Zelda. After the taunt finishes, Zelda uses her forward smash, launching him away.
