Monte d'Or (モンテドール, Monte d'Or) appears as a stage in Super Smash Bros. Dream. It hails from Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask.

Layout[edit | edit source]

Monte d'Or is a flat stage, without platforms and walls (much like Fairy Tail), taking place in the Carnival Square; however, The Masked Gentleman makes an appearance on the stage occasionally (not unlike 5-Volt in Gamer), and when he does, he attacks the entire stage with one attack. Anyone who doesn't dodge his attack gets turned into stone for 5 seconds; anyone airborne immediately comes down and hits any opponent that didn't get hit.

The competitively viable version of the stage takes place on a platform overlooking the city, similar to the Ω form of Prism Tower.

Origin[edit | edit source]

The Monte d'Or City Festival.

Monte d'Or is the main city in Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask. Most of the game involves going around Monte d'Or to figure out the mysteries behind the "miracles" that the town is notorious for.

The Masked Gentleman is the man behind these "miracles", and serves as the main antagonist of Miracle Mask. Template:Clr

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • Originally, Professor Layton was considered to be a playable character, and out of all the game designers working on SSBD, only one knew the Professor Layton series best. Unfortunately, due to a lack of ideas for special moves, Layton had to be scrapped. The game designer in question, however, did not want the Professor Layton series to go unrepresented in SSBD, so he decided to make Monte d'Or a stage instead.
  • The unlock criteria for this stage references how many Professor Layton games there are (albeit multiplied by 10).
